I tutor all levels of math, from elementary school through college. I also tutor adults who want to strengthen their math skills. All sessions are 1-on-1.

**Homework Help**

I provide homework help for the following subjects (including college):

◆ Elementary Math

◆ Algebra

◆ Geometry

◆ Trigonometry

◆ Pre-Calculus

◆ AP Calculus

◆ Calculus I

During these sessions, I explain step-by-step how to solve math problems and prepare students for upcoming tests. I also give supplemental problems and worksheets that go along with what is being taught in class. I believe that it’s critical for students to gain independence with problem-solving and get to the point where they can work through entire problems without any guidance. Once students reach this level of confidence and independence, they begin to excel on quizzes and tests.

**Test Prep**

I offer preparation and study skills for the math sections of the SAT, ACT, GRE, and GED. To help students prepare for these tests, I give them a variety of problems that resemble ones they will see on the test. Many of the problems I assign come from the books listed below, and I recommend that students purchase the given book for the test they are preparing for (click on title to purchase through Amazon):

◆ SAT

500 New SAT Math Problems Arranged by Topic and Difficulty Level by Dr. Steve Warner

◆ ACT

Ultimate Guide to the Math ACT by Richard F. Corn

◆ GRE

Official GRE Quantitative Reasoning Practice Questions, Second Edition, Volume 1 by ETS

◆ GED

GED Math Preparation 2018 by Test Prep Books

I have found that these books are the best available for each test because they have questions that closely resemble actual test questions. Although it is not required for students to purchase these books, it is helpful for them to have their own copy to review the problems at home.

**Summer Enrichment**

In order to help students retain the math knowledge that they learned during the school year and give them a head start for the fall, I offer summer enrichment. These sessions are individualized for each student and include:

◆ Review of concepts from the previous school year as needed

◆ Introduction to new material for the upcoming school year

◆ Math games that are relevant to the student’s grade level

These sessions are flexible and you can decide how many hours a week to sign up for. For most students, I recommend 4 to 6 hours per week. This is because students typically spend this amount of time in math class and doing math homework during the school year, and it is important to spend an equivalent amount of time on math in the summer in order to retain and expand on that knowledge.

**Math Skills**

For adults who use math in their career or who want to refresh their math abilities for everyday life scenarios, math skills sessions are the perfect option. You'll learn how to quickly perform certain mathematical operations, such as:

◆ Calculating percentages

◆ Determining ratios

◆ Analyzing graphs

◆ Estimating time

◆ Converting measurements

These sessions are suited for adults of all ages and skill levels. Depending on your career or desired knowledge, these sessions will be tailored to your specific requests.
